Cyber Safety Presentation

Constable Amanda Fahey from Victoria Police Youth Resource Division visited Avila College recently to talk to Year 8 students about the important subject of cyber safety.  

She outlined how vital it is that young people understand all the implications of using various social media channels. Video’s were shown depicting certain situations that can arise from inappropriate use of technology. Constable Fahey also pointed out the significance of how people present themselves online, even to the point of personal accounts being checked by prospoective employers prior to hiring. The presentation provided the opportunity to reflect and re-think the way social media is used by students on a day to day basis and to ensure it is used in the best way possible.
