Congratulations to our Class of 2021

Avila College is delighted to congratulate the Class of 2020 on their outstanding results in their VCE, VCAL and VET studies.

26% of the class achieved an ATAR score over 90 placing them in the top 10% of Victoria and 49% achieved a score over 80, placing them in the top 20% of the state.

Two students achieved a perfect score of 50 in English and Further Mathematics.

23 students also received the VCE Baccalaureate, an additional form of recognition for students who successfully meet the demands of studying a higher-level mathematics subject and a language in their VCE program.

Jocelyn Satya Graha

College DUX 2021 | ATAR 99.8 | Perfect Score in English

Congratulations to the 2021 Avila College DUX, Jocelyn Satya Graha.

A well-rounded and accomplished student, Jocelyn has embraced every opportunity presented to her throughout her Avila journey and enthusiastically contributed to the Avila community and College life.

As the 2021 College Music Captain, who plays both piano and oboe, Jocelyn’s involvement in music and encouragement of younger students was laudable, especially through the challenges of remote learning.

An articulate debater, Jocelyn was awarded College Colours in 2021 in Public Speaking & Debating, the Arts and Catholic Identity & Community. She assisted in the transition of Year 7 students as a Peer Helper and has been a long time Avila Ambassador.

A member of the 3rd place team in the RACI Titration Stakes Chemistry competition, Jocelyn’s strive for excellence in her academic studies has been exemplified by her ability to focus and to engage at a deep level with her learning.

Jocelyn plans to study Medicine or Biomedicine.

Emma Johnston

ATAR 97.45 

With an exceptionally busy VCE program, Emma embraced a heavy academic load, together with a Public Speaking and Debating leadership role, playing oboe and being a member of the Avila Aerobics National Championship winning team.

Throughout her time at Avila, Emma has been heavily involved in a wide range of extra-curricular endeavours, as well as being a conscientious and committed learner. Passionate about community building she has worked tirelessly, despite the challenges of lockdowns, in her role as Public Speaking and Debating Captain.

Emma hopes to pursue Science and Global Studies at university.

Natalie Khoo

ATAR 97.25 | Perfect Score in Further Mathematics

As the 2021 Art Captain, Natalie has excelled in her role, fostering creativity and flair. This has been echoed in her academic endeavours, leadership and school community involvement.

A collegial and diligent learner, Natalie has strived for excellence across a range of subject areas. Her willingness to work from feedback and meticulous notes are evidence of her intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.

She has immersed herself in the community life of the College as a student leader, Ambassador, Creative Arts dancer, Peer Helper and member of the National championship winning aerobics team this year.

Natalie hopes to study Medical Radiation and Imaging in 2022.

Kassandra Petersen

VCAL Achiever

Kassandra undertook a VCAL pathway in Years 11 and 12, completing the highest level possible, Senior VCAL, this year.

As part of her course she undertook studies in Certificate III Allied Health Assistance at Swinburne Institute which she completed to an excellent standard. Kassandra also completed a Certificate II in Hospitality and Units 3 & 4  Business Management as part of her program.

Kassandra is a highly motivated student who set clear goals for herself and used her excellent organisational skills to achieve them. Her classmates and teachers describe her as caring, engaging, having a great sense of humour, empathetic, a leader and very motivating.

Kassandra is looking to continue her studies applying for a Diploma of Nursing.
