Building a Better Community

Vibrant student voice is an integral and vital part of our school community. Avila College students are encouraged and empowered to take an active and influential role in shaping our learning community and their own education through feedback, opinion and collaboration.

Student voice is an important aspect of the daily classroom and further amplified through groups such as the Student Representative Council (SRC), Students Create the Future, Uniform Committee and the Avila Ambassador program.

Events and forums, such as The Conversation Hour, see students present their perspectives, thoughts, ideas and experiences to parents and staff. Students also make valued contributions to major projects – such as renovations and building works – helping to shape the design and layout of their learning spaces.

Regular meetings with staff and the Principal provide many and varied opportunities for students to put forward ideas, be part of the decision-making process and influence outcomes.
