The Historical Jesus

Avila College recently hosted a conference for teachers from Avila, Mazenod, Our Lady of Sion and Padua. The keynote speaker was Dr Amy Jill Levine, a Biblical scholar from the United States. Dr Levine has an impressive list of qualifiactions, Universlty appointments and Board positions. She is also a published author. 

Dr Levine discussed the Historical Jesus in his Jewish context, the Parables of the Lost and Encounters with Jesus. Her encyclopedic knowledge of the Bible and engaging style meant that delegates absorbed the insights and analysis she provided throughout the day. There was much positive feedback about the day and everyone appreciated the opportunity to hear from such a high profile and respected speaker.
