Working at Avila College

Employment at Avila College is subject to the following requirements:

  • Applicants for teaching positions must hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching 
     
  • Other staff (non-academic staff, including sessional music staff, sports coaches and other casuals) must hold, or be prepared to undergo, a Working with Children Check and National Police Record Check.
     
  • All teaching staff are required to have completed both the DEED mandatory reporting module and to have completed accredited anaphylaxis training or the ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training for Victorian schools (with practical assessment) prior to commencement of employment. First aid training is also desirable.  
     
  • All applicants must understand and accept that an appointment to a position requires a commitment to Catholic Education and must read and understand the Statement of Principles regarding Catholic Education. 
     
  • All employees are expected to fully support the Catholic ethos of the College.
