DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (CURRICULUM)
Commencing January 2009

ROLE DESCRIPTION
DEPUTY PRINCIPAL - CURRICULUM


The Deputy Principal (Curriculum) oversees the general organisation of programs and activities.

This responsibility includes:

1. Publicly supporting and promoting the Catholic ethos of the College

2. Membership of the following Committees:
a) College Leadership team
b) College Board
c) Curriculum Committee
d) Heads of Department Committee
e) Consultative Committee

3. Overseeing the teaching program and practices of the College
which includes:
• Assessment and reporting in conjunction with Year Level Co-ordinators and Heads of Departments
• Professional Learning of staff
• Managing staff performance issues
• Initiating and designing formative leadership programs for staff
• Working with Heads of Departments in the development of curriculum
• Communicating with parents in matters of curriculum
• Conducting information evenings regarding curriculum and subject selection
• Co-ordinating student programs including subject selection
• Allocating staff teaching loads, and staff recruitment in consultation with the Principal
• Overseeing the design and printing of curriculum and other publications
• Convening the Heads of Department and Curriculum Committee meetings
• Other duties as nominated by the Principal

4. Deputising for the Principal as required
