Avila's Social Justice Group meets weekly after school to discuss justice
issues which students are concerned about.
The main focus of the group is to raise awareness about such issues within the school community and to provide forms of action to try and change the situation.
The group is affiliated with Amnesty International and often writes letters on behalf of people whose rights have been violated in overseas countries.
Other activities include assembly presentations, helping collect donations for disadvantaged communities, and fund raising for specific projects.
