Book Club

The Book Club is for students from all year levels who are interested in books and reading and who enjoy participating in associated activities. Book Club members are able to preview new fiction and have special borrowing privileges.

Book Club meets once a fortnight at lunchtime in the library. Members have the opportunity to meet visiting authors including John Marsden, Archie Fusillo, Michael Pryor, as well as former Avila student-turned-author Kirsten Murphy who has enjoyed success with her first novel Raincheck on Timbuktu.

Book Club members also take part in excursions to book-related events, such as Booktalkers, the Writers' Festival, book launches and the annual Literary Feast.
